Availability and blocked time
Control when you can be scheduled. Block whole days when you are away, reserve stretches of time with a "Blocked time" appointment, set the working hours that frame the Day and Week views, and let holidays block scheduling on their own. This page explains each of these controls and how they affect your Calendar.
Block a day
Blocking a day keeps new appointments from being created on it — handy for days off, trips, or any time you are unavailable. A blocked day is shaded across the views, and its time grid no longer lets you click or drop to create.
- 1Open the day in the Day view.
- 2In the top bar, next to the view selector, click "Block day" (the lock button).
- 3The day is shaded and stops accepting new appointments.
- 4To free it again, select the same day and click "Unblock day" (the open-lock button).
Reserve time with "Blocked time"
To keep a stretch of a day for yourself without blocking the whole day, create an appointment of the "Blocked time" type — deep work, a commute, lunch. It sits on the timeline like any other appointment, in the color assigned to that type, so the period reads as taken at a glance. You create it exactly like a regular appointment; see the "Appointments" page.
Working hours
Working hours are the start and end times that frame the Day and Week views, so the part of the day you actually use stands out. You also choose the default interval, which is the granularity of the time grid and the suggested length of a new appointment.
- 1Open Settings and go to the Calendar section.
- 2Set "Workday start" and "Workday end" (for example, 08:00 to 18:00).
- 3Choose the "Default interval" used by the grid and for new appointments.
- 4The Day and Week views update to reflect the new range.
Holidays
The holidays registered for your account — national holidays, for example — appear in the Calendar automatically: highlighted on the day number in the Month view, in the day headers of the Week view, and as a chip above the Day view. By default they also block scheduling on that day, the same way a blocked day does.
- In Settings, under "Holiday rules", turn off "Block agenda on holidays" if you would rather keep booking on holidays. They stay visible either way.
- Need just one holiday free for booking? Open it in the Day view and click "Unblock day" — that single day accepts appointments again.
