Labels and priorities

Labels and priorities are the two quick ways to classify cards. A label is a colored tag you attach to a card to group it by theme, area or effort; a priority is a single urgency level per card. Both show up on the card and both can be used as filters, so you can narrow any view to exactly what matters now.

Use labels when you want several free-form categories on the same card, and priority when you need one clear signal of how urgent the task is. They work together: a card can carry many labels and one priority at the same time.

Labels

A label is a colored tag with a name. You attach as many labels as you like to a card, and each one is defined either for a single project or globally (reusable across every project).

Create and apply a label

  1. 1Open a card to bring up its details.
  2. 2In the "Labels" section, click "New label".
  3. 3Type the label name and pick a color from the palette.
  4. 4Confirm: the label is created and immediately applied to the card.
  5. 5To toggle an existing label on or off, click its tag in the same section.
Label name
The text shown on the tag, on the card and in filters.
Color
Chosen from a fixed palette; it fills the tag when the label is applied.
Scope
A label created on a card inside a project belongs to that project; one created on a card without a project (in the Inbox) is global and available on every board.
A card can have several labels at once. Applied labels appear filled with their color; available-but-unapplied labels show as a thin outline you can click to add.

Per-project vs global labels

A per-project label belongs to one board and appears only there. A global label has no project attached, so it shows up on every board — handy for cross-cutting tags you reuse everywhere. On any board you always see that board's own labels plus all the global ones.

Colors come from a shared palette used for both labels and card covers, so your tags stay visually consistent across the module.

Priorities

Priority is a single urgency level per card. There are five levels, each with its own color so you can read urgency at a glance on the card.

None
No priority set — the neutral default.
Low
Can wait; no urgency.
Medium
Important, but no immediate rush.
High
Needs attention soon.
Urgent
Top priority; handle it first.

Set the priority

  1. 1Open the card to bring up its details.
  2. 2In the sidebar, find the "Priority" field.
  3. 3Pick one of the five levels: None, Low, Medium, High or Urgent.
  4. 4The card updates right away and shows the priority color.
Each card carries exactly one priority. New cards start with "None" until you set a level.

Set the priority as you type

Every quick-add box — in the List and Board views, in the Inbox and in the command palette — understands a shorthand while you type the title: add "!1" to "!4" (or "p1" to "p4") and the priority is set on the spot, with the code removed from the title. For example: "pay rent tomorrow 9am !1".

!1 or p1
Urgent — the highest level.
!2 or p2
High.
!3 or p3
Medium.
!4 or p4
Low.
The same quick-add box also captures due dates and times as you type ("tomorrow", "friday", "9am", "12/08"…). Date words are recognized in English and Portuguese; numeric dates and times work in any language.

Filter by priority

Filters apply to every view, so narrowing by priority reshapes the Board, List, Table and the others at the same time.

  1. 1Open the "Filters" panel of the module.
  2. 2Under "Priority", click the levels you want to keep.
  3. 3Combine several levels to widen the selection (for example, High and Urgent).
  4. 4Clear the selected levels to see cards of every priority again.
You can stack the priority filter with the label, assignee, "My tasks", due-date and "Blocked" filters to zoom in on exactly the cards you need. To learn about the individual views, see the "Views" page.

Labels and priority are shown together on each card, so the board reads at a glance. For everything else a card can hold — dates, checklist, assignees and more — see the "Task cards" page.
